Many thanks to RWSfm’s presenter Matthew Lockyer for previewing two of the songs from my song cycle Moments of Freedom on his wonderful Classical Show tonight. They’ll be airing at around 6.20pm: https://rwsfm.co.uk
The songs are called Daydreaming and Unconquered and they are based on poems by A.A. Milne and William Henley (The Island and Invictus) They are being sung by the wonderfully talented mezzo soprano Angelina Dorlin Barlow accompanied by Firoze Madon on the piano.
The five songs in the cycle represent different moments of freedom in a lifetime…Daydreaming is the freedom of innocent children’s dreams and Unconquered is about the freedom of overcoming extreme difficulties in life with strength of character. It will be exciting to hear the songs on the radio for the first time prior to the release of the recording later this summer. I am so grateful to Angelina and Firoze for singing and playing so beautifully.
