The first performance of the string orchestra version of Avanti – one of the pieces from Folk and Beyond – is being given by Youth Music Centre’ s Chamber Orchestra on July 1st at 1.00 pm. The venue is Hampstead Garden Suburb Free Church ,London, NW11 7AG.
I started learning cello at Youth Music Centre and loved playing in their orchestras. The conducting was often exciting and it definitely helped develop my enthusiasm for music and their current music director – Marina Solarek -continues that tradition.
